More Women Learning Self-Defense in Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya -Faced with statistics showing an increase in violent sexual crimes, particularly rape, more women and girls are taking advantage of self-defense classes sponsored by a number of organizations. One group holds sessions lasting two to three hours, in which women not only learn how to use their bodies for self-defense, but also how to use whatever may be within reach to help them escape attackers.

New Martial Arts Studio Open in Maine

Union, Maine - Chuck Nguyen will move his teaching venue from YMCAs to the Thompson Community Center, where he will offer classes for children and adults. Nguyen also operates the Vietnamese Self-Defense Academy in Southeast Asia.
